For use in hydroponics, it is important to buffer the clay balls before use to prevent the pH of the water from becoming too alkaline. Here are the steps to follow to stamp the clay balls before use:
- Rinse the clay balls with clean water to remove dust and impurities.
- Fill a bucket with clean water and add a buffering agent, such as Hydropassion Acid Down to lower the pH to 5.5.
- Dip the clay balls in the buffered water and let sit for at least 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, remove the clay balls from the buffered water and rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue.
